Cycling Level 100, XP, Drops, and Streaks [December 2023]

If you aren’t level 100 by Sunday i’ll be disappointed!

Zwiftinsider wrote it takes 240hrs to go from 60>>>100 :flushed:

Well, not literally nothing. You get 50,000 Drops each time you hit level 100, which are essentially worthless today. But if they offer something really cool in the Drop Shop for 5,000,000 Drops, they could be worth something some day.

By the time I get to level 100, I will have 976,939 XP.

Someone starting today will have reached level 100 and cycled through level 100 thirty-five more times by the time they have 976,939 XP. Why is their extra 385,939 XP worth 1,750,000 Drops, and mine is worth nothing?

I never said I was loosing. I just asked a question as I still don’t understand how new leveling works. So I don’t need anybody telling me if I’m losing or not.

I completely agree.

When i used to play on the X Box on Call of Duty. When you reavhed the top rank, you went back to pte level 0. You then start again to reach top level.
Do this 11 times and you are a Grand Master on COD. Took me seversl years to get there. But it was fun.
This is just the same.

People are forgetting one basic tbing on Zwift .

Its the bloody riding that counts , not the pretend level you are .

People level 10 can probably ride better than me at level 54 as they might be 25 yesrs younger than me and much fitter.

So levels mean nothing. But your self esteem at being something that is actually pointless.

Its the KM/Miles that you cycled that matters most.

Its like listening to my son all them years ago…XP points, drops…but, but, but, but .

Blimey.:flushed:

Zwift should just make XP private.

Evan,

Since it’s probably a pretty similar process, any chance you’re all the ability to mix and match wheels on the handbikes? Or add a Tron handbike texture?

Cheers

Thanks! That is the info I was looking for.

I like this suggestion.

Same for me as Roberto. At the start this week I was level 60 with 953125 XP. That should have been enough for the discount till level 100. But the screen shows level 98.

It says 98 but you will get it boosted to 100.

Apparently it has to be shown like that so it stops when you get to 100 and doesn’t boost you past 100 or something.

Confusing? Yes. But should work as intended. I guess time will tell.

Hi,

Got a question about that 300/400/500 streak bonus. You can read that in different ways.
Do you
a - get one 300/400/500 bonus after two rides in one week
or
b - do you get that 300/400/500 bonus after the first two rides so making it 600/800/1000 a week ?

Cheers Brian, the 600XP difference was the 2 days of 300XP streak bonus being applied, I realised after re-reading Zwift Insiders article, as I thought we only got one streak bonus a week.

Just being able to manually sort our frames and wheels would be enough.

Ideally, I’d like to see a few other things, like being able to create pre-configured pairings (e.g. Venge + Zipp 858s, Aethos + Roval Alpinists).

It seems like this started at the time of update, and not retroactive to the start of the week. I had a ride Thursday and received 300XP for week 1 streak, and then received an additional 300XP for a Saturday ride even though I had rides Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before the update.

Mine says 46 >> 99.

Honestly, now I see it in practice it seems an unsatisfactory system.

My 421,114 XP should put me on level 84 at 421,000 XP, but I’m on level 46. That starts at 139,000 XP. So I’ve more to “re-earn” than I’ve had “taken away”; 282,000XP.

Even with a 20% discount, that’s 225,600XP. Given it took me 8 years to get to 421,000 XP this feels like it’ll take me a good 5 years just to get back the XP that was “taken away”.

“the satisfaction of leveling-up” isn’t really there when I know there are so many rewards I’m owed, but it’ll take me so long to see them. “Each level will be faster” is true, but marginally so.

It’s nowhere near as generous as previous accelerated paths that were 8x for 25-50 and 2x for 50-60.

I understand this isn’t quite the same as it’s not “more levels” using banked XP in the same way, but it feels unrewarding to me. It has certainly taken the shine off my excitement for the new levelling curve.

As I just said from my own perspective, it’s more that I’ve already earnt enough XP to be at level 83, but it’s probably going to take me 5 years to get to level 83, even on a marginally accelerated path.

Frankly, I hate it.

Shoot; I feel like it’s almost too fast for me…

In the past week I’ve gone up 3 levels!

Yeah, it’s definitely feeling very fast for me (though I ride 5 or more times per week). I was expecting to need most of this season to get fire socks, gonna probably get them this week now since I just got two levels pretty quickly last week. It does feel somewhat less of an accomplishment to get to L50 now from my perspective, but then again, I’m used to platforms where going up levels gets progressively harder as you go to the point where it definitely is a grind near the final levels, and it sounds like Zwift was specifically trying to avoid that.
