Completed Uber Pretzel but did not get badge/XP

I received a letter from support. They said I took a 9 (!) Minute break so I didn’t get the badge. This is clearly nonsense. I’ve never heard of this rule.

Btw they very-very sorry but can’t do anything.

Hi

Back on June 20th i was able to complete The Uber Pretzel, however i never got the badge for completing the full route. in my case when i was in the middle of the route i got a message from zwift that my membership expired. after a couple of minutes i was able to complete the route but i did not get the badge and of course the membership was active. even you can check my activity on zwift.

i would appreciate your help to get the badge as its a pretty big route to do it again.

thanks in advance.

That’s ridiculous. So Your supposed to do a 6-7 hour ride without stopping to go to the bathroom or refill bidons?!?

Same here. Just finished Uber Pretzel. Got the “Avid Climber” badge but no Uber Pretzel. As with others, really not keen to do that beast again.

I don’t think this is true. I still haven’t done the UP yet, but I took an hour break on the Mega Pretzel and still got the badge.

has this been resolved yet? thinking of giving it a go this afternoon, but only if i see a post from someone saying they actually got the badge for this or any of the 5 bidon routes for that matter

I just the did the regular pretzel and didn’t get a badge. Not terribly excited but it was only 3 hours so not the biggest ride I’ve done. I assume they won’t give us credit for these unbadged achievements?

Still not. I have suspended my membership for a bit, maybe this will speed up the fix. The weather is very good anyway and I ride a bike outdoors.

One membership? Nope. If you can get 99,999 more people to join you, then perhaps.

The same issue just happened on my ride as well. I made a lot of effort to finish The Uber Pretzel but ended up with nothing when I got to the top of the Alpe

this is becoming really poo zwift, first 4 horseman and now uber pretzel with no badge upon completion?! wtf is going on?! both are so long i aint doing them again. surely you can add them to my profile via the backend if i give you my logs or tcr file surely as proof?!

I feel for you @Tony_Dang - that’s very frustrating. A mate just did 4 horsemen for a second time to earn the badge and got nothing. I think he was ready to throw his computer out the window.

Zwift’s response has so far been very disappointing.

yeh response from them was poor.

"Thanks for reaching out to us!

I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t seeing the badge that you were expecting, but I’m happy to provide more information.

Many of the courses in Zwift have lead-ins that aren’t part of the main route, and this portion doesn’t count toward the badge achievement. To earn a particular route badge, you’ll have to complete the lead-in to get to the route and then ride the full distance on the route.

While I’d like to credit your account for the missing progress, I won’t be able to do so due to technical limitations. I know this isn’t what you were hoping to hear, and understand the frustration.

To prevent this in the future, you can see which routes have lead-ins by selecting ‘Routes’ from the ‘World Choice’ screen in the Zwift app. Next, select a particular route, and you’ll see the path quickly traced out on the map. The lead-in portion will be traced in blue, while the portion of the route that counts toward the badge will appear in white. For some routes, the badge distance goes back over the lead-in, and the blue line will be traced back over in white, so watch closely. If you’d like to see the animation again, just click the route name a second time.

Once you’re in a ride, keep an eye on the mini-map and you’ll see a colored arch that marks the start of the route. Pass through this arch a second time and you’ve completed one lap. It’s important to note that this needs to be done without any manual turn selections, so ignore any prompts to turn and stay on the main route. When you’ve earned the route badge, you should see an on-screen notification pop up, so don’t stop riding until you see that!

When you’ve finished riding, you’ll want to make sure to save and exit Zwift properly so that your progress isn’t lost.

To do that:

  1. Select ‘Menu’ from the lower-left corner of your screen.
  2. Select ‘End Ride’ on the next screen.
  3. Finally, choose ‘Save & Exit.’ If you don’t save your ride, your progress will be lost.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, as we’re happy to help in any way we can!"

Yup standard responses we all seem to have received. The “technical limitations” lines of quite frustrating given its technically possible to award a badge after the fact

i dont mind it it doesnt work on the short routes, but these two are killers :unamused: dont plan on cycling them both again.

If someone can share his/her log file, I will be very grateful.
I’ve parced my log file and I have a hypothesis regarding this issue, but I need a couple of another log files for Uber Pretzel/Four Horseman to confirm it.
Thanks!

Are there any other “mega routes” besides Uber Pretzel (I did this twice for nought) and Four Horsemen that suffer from this no badge despite first time completion issue?

In particular - Tour of Fire and Ice, Catch Quest, Mega Pretzel and The Pretzel?

Thanks for feedback

Several people I “know” rode the Mega Pretzel today (9/13/20) and all first-timers got the badge, so at least that one is working.

Rode Uber Pretzel today = no badge on screen or in ZC
Rode PRL Full last week = got badge on screen but never appeared in ZC or Z

I did 'The Pretzel" on 9 sept. and didn’t get a badge; matched the zwift insider strava segment so I don’t think it was anything to with lead-ins… I learned that lesson already.
