Companion App drop outs

I connected my Wahoo KickR4 indoor trainer through the Apple TV via the Companion App for the Zwift Academy final recovery ride and progress ride to measure my progress. I’m sure you can images my frustration when the connection kept on dropping out! During my workouts this never happened, so what’s changed?

It is usually wifi dropouts that make the companion app lose connection.

Even if it drops for a second can make it lose connection. try resetting your router and see if that helps.

I don’t agree with this.

If it was WiFi drop out then the Apple TV would do the same. Further to this it worked 100% in all 6 workouts.

Why now suddenly, does it happen?

What device are you running the ZCA on?

It’s on a iPhone12Pro Max
iOS 14,8 software

Try turning off WIFI Assist.

I doesn’t have to be your wifi signal that drops but maybe your phone briefly loses connection, the Apple TV may stay connected, or if it just drops for a second then it might not be noticeable.

I wasn’t saying it was definitely this but when i have had similar problems it was because my phone lost the wifi signal and when it connected again the bluetooth connections had been lost and didn’t automatically reconnect.
