Coffee Time greyed out on Companion App during group rides

Apr.16/24 - Coffee Time has only worked for me once. I tried deleting & reinstalling, but it’s still not working. It’s really frustrating when on a group ride, it’s looking like Starbucks for everyone but me.

Hi @Silque, Thanks for reaching out in this forums thread. Is this happening while riding in an event or race? I’m mentioning this because Coffee Stop is not allowed during competitive events and races. Finally, to use it, you have to have at least 1 other Zwifter near you going in the same direction. Additionally, to ensure you stay with your group, ensure you’re pedaling before the time is up on your Coffee Stop.

It’s while riding an event. These events are certainly not races or competitive and as I mentioned, lots in the group are able to use the Coffee Stop, but not me. For example, on Tuesday’s Group Ride, I was in the midst of a group - several people were taking advantage of the Coffee Stop, but on my Comp.App, it was greyed out. I’ve only been able to use it once, several months ago, and I think that was before a subsequent upgrade. My Comp.App is up to date.

What happens if you close and then reopen the Companion App?

I’ve had this issue a few times and doing the above works every time to refresh the coffee stop status and allow me to trigger it.

It’s worth mentioning that If no riders are nearby, you aren’t moving, or you’re near the end of a group ride event; Coffee Stop will automatically be disabled. For more relevant information about Coffee stops please, review this article.)

Additionally, could you please confirm if the coffee stop works on the Zwift app? Have you tried it?

I’m using the Zwift Companioconstraints to use the feature, but when there are multipln App on my Android phone t/w AppleTV. As I said previously, Coffee Stop worked once during a group ride, and has been greyed out ever since. I’m aware of the conditions to use Coffee Stop. It’s impractical for my to use my laptop to Zwift as my bike setup is in my basement which is why I’ve been using the app on my phone t/w ATV.

Whatever the issue was with the Companion App & Coffee Stop, the latest Zwift update would appear to have fixed it. During my group ride this morning, I noticed it was back whenever I was in a group. Soon as I got dropped, it greyed out. So now working as it should…
