Can't launch Zwift errors 400 403 404? [April 2021] [SOLVED]

Hi All - I’m also having an issue logging on. I have a MacBook. I’ve cleared all cache and internet history, uninstalled and reinstalled Zwift, but all I get is “Forbidden” and a white screen on the login launcher.

Thanks. I’ve done all of the following:

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled Zwift 3 times. It even updated on one launch but still said “forbidden” with no graphics.
  • On Mac Big Sur v 11.2.3 (updated)
  • Using both Safari and Chrome. Removed and deleted all cache & browsing history on both
  • Safari Version 14.0.3 (16610.4.3.1.7)

I also updated my password. Not prompting me for any login though. I’ve also restarted the Mac many times.

Did you cleared your cache in the Safari?

Hi Shuji, tried all you suggested as well as a WiFi disconnect and connect but no luck so far. I am running Windows 10 with Chrome as my default browser. Cleared all cache in Edge and Chrome, still no luck. Thanks for any additional suggestions. Jan

Nothing work for now.
The only thing you can do is to launch zwift without internet connection, and then you can turn on wifi. But you have to login everytime.
Waiting for a real solution from zwift.

@Jan_Alkemade you need to clear the cache in Internet Explorer. Clearing the caches in Edge and Chrome will not fix this. To find IE in Windows 10 click the START button and type “Internet Explorer” into the search bar. The icon should appear. Open IE and clear the cache and try Zwift again.

Hi Billy, thank you this indeed did the trick! :+1: Kind regards, Jan

Is this related to zwift randomly over the past 2 weeks prompting me for my password when it hasn’t done this for the year prior?

Also any chance of moving off of IE? It is orphaned software and very insecure…

Get home from work and clear cache again. Zwift sent out another update also. After all that I am back up and running. Thanks for all the posts. They were helpful. Ride on!

Same issue here on my iMac. Have done everything you have done several times, all I get is a white window with the word Forbidden. I even deleted the password file in keychain so that I would have to log in fresh, that at least got me the splash screen for a few seconds before it reverting back to the white forbidden window. This update totally broke zwift on my mac. It still works on my iOS devices.

Mine is fixed. Also on Mac. I turned off wifi, logged in and selected continue, then turned wifi back on. Worked. Logged in manually. I also relaunched a couple times. Gave me a “forbidden” reply once but otherwise it lets me. Updated my password as well. It could be a new password minimum on the backend too. If you haven’t updated your password try that. We’ll see what Zwift says.

I didn’t uninstall Zwift but did download and install over the old version. This fixed it for me.

Yes that works but I have to do it every time. My IOS devices work fine, my PC works fine but not my Mac. here’s what I got back from tech support “This is a current known issue and we are actively working on it. Please make sure to disable all pop ups on Safari and if that doesn’t work we recommend you to use Zwift on any other device until this issue is resolved.”

Same 403 issue here on my laptop. Cleared cookies and caches - repeatedly, uninstalled and re-installed Zwift twice, finally tried the c cleaner and that worked. Thank you @Ashley_Evans, that’s more help than I’ve ever gotten from Zwift “Support” in 3.5 years of Zwifting. Frankly, I’m tired of Zwift constantly blaming everyone’s internet connection, so I will never contact Zwift “Support” again.

If ccleaner worked, it’s probably because in your previous attempts you were clearing the cache of browsers other than IE.

I’m currently installing for a second time in windows 10 I have deleted history, cache etc and tried to disconnect and reconnect wifi but nothing is working so far I still have the 403 error

I don’t use IE.

But Zwift does use Internet Explorer.

As @Gerrie_Delport_ODZ said - you don’t, but apps that need a browser function, such as the Zwift launcher, do.
