Maybe one central city with portals to all the different worlds, called The City on the Edge of Forever.
YES!!! Longer routes and possibly maybe a world
creator so we could have long, short, or what ever we feel like so we don’t just get bored of the same routes over and over again.
Hey, I went to that party ! Didn’t stay for the whole thing though… most did 500, a couple did 1000.
Based on what people are saying here about linking worlds - how about a route “playlist” so you can pre-select a number of routes to ride in succession. I’m not concerned if I have to ride in an etheral grey tube for 20-30 seconds while my next route loads, but I do like minimal faffage once I’m into a ride…
Ethereal grey Zwift tube > the stark walls of my pain cave, so Zwift is already ahead of the game
I wonder what proportion of Zwift users have done any of the longer routes that are already there? For myself, I have a lot of km on Zwift and almost every badge but I have no intention of ever attempting those Pretzels and PRL Full length rides, I don’t mind if those badges stay unearned. 2hr on a trainer and I’m done.
Put me in the camp that would be very very unhappy if all the Strava segments were broken. Zwift is not great at providing basic tools for tracking long term performance, so we are forced to turn to Strava (a free program) to do what Zwift (a paid program) ought to be able to do. I check Strava after every ride to see how my KOM time compares to how I’ve been doing over the last 3 years. Don’t take that away please!
Yes, +1 for Fulgaz. If you want a variety of “longer rides”, well you will never run out of those on Fulgaz.
Does it matter though if “the map looks stupid” on Strava? When I ride France and climb Ventoux it puts me in the South Pacific, so that’s already a bit silly.
You can do this on the Zwift Companion app. It’s not perfect and as refined as it could/should be but I actually find it very easy to compare segment times over previous years.
Didn’t they just roll that out, then immediately withdraw it for Android users (I use Android) due to being buggy? (that said, this would be a very nice and long overdue feature and I look forward to having it working). (edit: I stand corrected it is now available).
I still have the Leaderboards available on Android.
Yes because all other 3rd party apps use the gps data to do many of the calculations. So with straight lines most of your data will be wrong.
Time, power, ‘distance’, speed seem to be really all that’s important. Maps?
come from the coordinates in the fit file
what about average 20 min power, or power over a set distance (segment). Or elevation?
How about a little less rigid thinking. Let’s remember that other than power output and heart rate nothing else in Zwift is real so some creative thinking can figure it out.
those are all derivatives from the primary metrics, as is a map. Distance is a function of speed and time.
Zwift segments showing in CA are not Strava segments!
Never said they were.
this!
the lines on a map that some people seem to care about so much could surely be avoided by just offsetting the new gps points in the fit file, if you are ported X miles east and y miles south to the next world then just minus these from the GPS plot thereafter. Should be very doable with a few minutes thought.
if you select a route that covers two worlds then both could be loaded at once, if your system cant handle it then it warns you.
