on my action bar there are buttons to increase or decrease the resistance of the roller but there is no ERG button.
How can I activate or deactivate the ERG function if it is not present on the bar?
I use elite realtorur ant+ rollers

Welcome to forums, this is Haziel part of the Zwift Support Team, please be aware that ERG mode is only available in workouts, just like SIM mode is only available in free rides.
You can turn this on or off using the action bar once you’ve started your workout. Check out this article for more info on using the action bar.

I have always performed training programs but I have never found the button to activate ERG. I use a laptop with ant+ dongle
this ZHQ need to learn that true. you can do ERG in all mode. @tiziano_benedetti and @Haziel_P DO better next time. you can run Trainer road or like things., ZHQ know this.
