Avatar stops pedalling

During my last 4 rides, after about 50 minutes, the companion app shows a fixed power reading, zwift program has a blank for power, my avatar stops pedalling, but I’m still spinning. The kicker core bluetooth light is on solid, normally it flickers. I’m trying to figure out what’s causing the failure mode. Is it the kicker core, or the companion app, program on pc? Wi-fi is strong and still connected.

Hi Paul,

Depending on how your KICKR CORE is paired to Zwift, there could a number of different reasons why you’re getting dropouts which cause your Zwift avatar to stop moving.

If your KICKR CORE is paired via the Zwift Companion (ZC) app, the issue could be that the WiFi connection is dropping on your mobile device. Here are the most common suggested workarounds from your mobile device used for Zwift Companion:

  1. Turn on Airplane mode, then turn on Bluetooth and turn on WiFi.
  2. Alternatively, you can disable cellular data before opening the Zwift Companion app.

Additionally, we have a Zwift Support article to help you troubleshoot the problem, “Issues With Zwift Companion App Bluetooth Connection Dropping During a Ride.

If you’re pairing through the native (built-in) BLE connection on your Windows computer (Windows 10 BLE is currently in beta and may not work as consistently well as other supported BLE connections for Zwift), the problem could be related to signal drops as a result of interference. To help you troubleshoot the problem, please review the Zwift Support article, “Issues With Your Bluetooth Signal Dropping During a Ride.

If you’re pairing via ANT+, please review the Zwift Support article, “Issues With Your ANT+ Signal Dropping During a Ride.

If that doesn’t help, please submit a support ticket if you haven’t already done so, and one of our support agents will be happy to take a closer look at this matter.

Same problem here! Two days in a row … This is driving me nuts … happened I. The middle of two races. Will try tomorrow in Airplane mode as suggested …
