Hey!
Been using my setup for several years with no problems whatsoever.
Suddently now my avatar is not moving anymore. When I want to ride it doesnt even start moving. When trying, a few times it hopped on the bike but dismounted a second later and then just stands there.
It seems that no power/cadence/resistance data is transfered to Zwift. The sensors are found and paired without an issue. But even on the starting screen all numbers stay at zero except my HR monitor.
I run it on an Apple TV 4k.
Tried several restarts and resets (incl cutting off the electricity to both Kickr and Apple TV) Tried unpair and pair again and even deleted and reinstalled the app. Nothing works: neither just ride nor any workouts.
When I login and want to start a ride the menu icon bottem left is there right away which it never did before.
Wont get connected to any Ambassador with the chat function (waited up to two hours) and am at a loss now.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I read through your recent server log history for clues and the usual suspects for this type of behavior don’t seem to apply in your case. You’ve done some smart troubleshooting steps like rebooting the ATV and uninstalling / reinstalling Zwift. Thanks for letting us know you’ve done these steps already.
Your server logs indicate that you’re a fan of custom Training Peaks workouts, is that correct? I want to confirm I read your comment above correctly: the avatar didn’t move when in free ride (SIM) mode, correct? You’ve eliminated the custom workout as a suspect?
The Menu button clue is very interesting - does it stay visible and won’t go away as though buttons of the ATV remote are jammed? It may be possible that the remote might need to be cleaned. Here’s a diiscusion on Apple’s forum.
Long shot, but something that stuck out: It looks like your troubles started on September 25, does that sound right? Your last successful activity was on September 4. At that time, your Apple TV was on tvOS 17.6.1. The next login happened on September 25, and your ATV had been updated to tvOS 1.18.0.
Apple doesn’t provide a way to roll back to an older version, but they do have a way to reset / restore the OS. Here’s how. If you don’t have any locally-stored media on the ATV like movies or music (which will be lost unless it’s backed up to Cloud), it may be worth it to try this, which will also clear out corrupted files and temp file clutter.
Yes, the problem occurs on both custom workouts and just ride. And yes, I use almost exclusively TP Workouts as I use TP to import my training plan into Zwift. I know I could do this directly but with my current computer setup this is the easiest for me.
The remote shouldnt be the issue as it otherwise works as intended. While scrolling through the ATV menu to look for trouble shooting options I had no problems.
But yes, the menu toggle wont go away. I can select/unselect it but the orange button never goes away.
Interessting that it might be connected to the ATV update. I will reset it and then try again. It might have botched up the connections.
I cant pinpoint the date - I just know it occured first in my second to last login (last week?).
I am off now for a few days. I will try the reset option and also try to pair my hardware through the phone (just came to my mind). That could indicate if its a hardware or ATV connection problem.
I reset and updated the ATV and it didnt resolve the problem. Avatar is still not moving.
And I still have the menu icon coming up as soon as I am getting logged into the game. Cleaned the remote but its not making a difference. No button seems to be stuck.
Am at my witts end.
Any more help ideas from your side?
Edit: it might be the Kickr itself. Just realised I could check through the wahoo app and no data arriving there either albeit connected. Will try to work the trouble shooting there and come back here if…
