Hi. I don’t normally use Apple, but having heard great things about it for Zwift I bought a 5th gen one off ebay and hooked it up to my monitor in the garage. I set up an apple ID account, all good so far, but then it wouldn’t let me download the Zwift app without an iTunes Store Account.
I downloaded iTunes on my PC but it doesn’t work at all and crashes everytime (v old PC) But I also read that if you sign up to iTunes then you have to use iTunes for all books/podcasts. I didn’t want to delve into Apple this much, I just want to use Zwift in the garage!! Anyone had any similar issues?

You don’t need iTunes. All you need is your Apple ID. Then you need to go to the App Store on your Apple TV and download Zwift.
That’s what I also thought, when i go to download the Zwift app i get this message (photo, if it works). It says
" No itunes store account.
Before using this apple account on your apple TV, you must first login to an iOS device, Mac or PC to creat an iTunes Store Account"
You might be able to satisfy that using a web browser on the PC to make an account: Apple Account
Yes I made an apple account and logged in, but it also seems to want iTunes Store account. I can’t find any other forums where this has happened other people, so I’m wondering if it is because I bought the TV off ebay and it was reset? (I appreciate your help though guys, I was surprised how quick people are commenting 
What version of tvOS are you running on the Apple TV? Something is very wrong here.
So its Apple TV (5th Generation) 4K 64GB HD Media Streamer - A1842. That was the name directly off the ebay sale, and it all appeared legit. But I can check when i get home what it says for tvOS (i presume it would be on the menu somewhere)
That’s the same ATV model that I’ve got, which should be fine.
I suggest the following:

Do a Reset (not Restart) from the System menu. I know you said it had been reset, but let’s be on the safe side. This will put it back to factory settings. It also doesn’t take long.

Make sure your ATV is running the latest version of tvOS by trying to update it from the System menu.
Where did you set up the Apple account that you mention? If it still doesn’t work then it sounds like there’s something wrong with the account. You could try and set up a different one or ask Apple to help.
Brilliant, i’ll give that a go this evening and will report back! I had just set up the apple account from my android phone, and it seemed to be ok.
