Anyone using Kinetic inRide with AppleTV?

Hi there,

I have a very specific use-case and need to use my old Kinetic Rock and Roll trainer with inRide sensor (v3 - the green one with Bluetooth / ANT+).
It works over ANT+ with an ordinary Mac or PC, but I want to use with over Bluetooth with AppleTV - so far it’s only detecting my other trainers, but not the inRide.

Has anyone used (or is using) it this way ?

I know I can probably use Zwift Companion and try to pair the sensor this way, but I’d much rather do it natively without additional hardware.

Have you checked for trainer firmware? I have not used that trainer but Zwift has a guide for it: Connecting a Kinetic

Kinetic got sold to Magene around 2020 and all the apps are now gone from App Store so any firmware changes are a no-go.

I actually spoke with an employee of Kurt (owner of Kinetic brand), he said that covid was a good time to sell the brand because of the demand for trainers, so they did. It’s been coming for a while since Kurt has always been a mechanical shop and the industry was going towards more and more electronics in trainers. He also spoke highly of the R1 direct drive model.

Anyway, the inRide I have does work over ANT, I’ll see if my spare unit behaves any different, maybe also try to pair with a phone over BT to isolate whether that’s the unit or appletv problem.
