Anyone having lots of Zwift crashes lately?

Yeah I assume the launcher screen. There only one way from the Apple TV I know how to launch anything and I think thats just called the Home Screen - I’m not sure of terminology either

I dont restart Apple TV before after every ride intentionally but often have issue connecting HR monitor so often reboot it to fix that. Daniel (replied above) did suggest restarting the App at least before each ride which I have been doing when I remember

All that said though, the fact is it was working fine for probably 3 weeks then suddenly in the space of 3-4 days it was crashing frequently. I think it was the last update for sure.

Anyway just did another 45 min ride and no issues so things are looking up
I will restart Apple TV from now on as well though as you’ve suggested.

Thanks for the help. Cheers,

Damon

Hi there
Saturday am and pm.

Thursday - no erg.

  • I was riding then message popped up for me to join meet up … you know its says ‘hang on we are taking you’ then zwift stopped responding and screen goes blank. Needed to reboot laptop.

This aft got to join Jacko, then mid ride screen freezes and doesn’t correct itself. Then a pop up box comes up saying corrupted file or bad gateway or something with a box of tiny pixels! SoI don’t know and its depressing when I set my stall out today
to do these 2 rides.

Im using lap top with windows 10 ( Not brand new ) I note your problems with windows 10 - this is NOT a problem for me as I have been running Zwift mostly with out problems on this laptop.

Also I do NOT run full screen.

Everything is upto date:

Elite Zumo, stages power meter.

Regards

Karen

Always turn off atv.

Hi same here, AppleTV 4K, with Wahoo KICKR latest. Direct connection via Bluetooth. Have deleted and reinstalled the Zwift app on AppleTV
Keeps crashing, usually during races, towards the end. Last week I was in with a chance of winning in Innsbruck.

Screen goes green for split second then black. then Apple TV restarts. Zwift always saves my miles and puts me back in world but of course out of the race.

Zwift really need to sort this out, there must be a significant minority of users on AppleTV.

Have logged ticket but it has been ignored, sent a chaser.

Hi @Spencer_Tapia

Welcome to the Zwift Forum.

There are actually a lot of users on ATV.

Zwift is not ignoring your ticket, they are currently very busy with user support in this testing times.

ATV crashing - Can it be that the ATV is overheating?

Not overheating problem.

ATv app crashed on me twice this am. I was able to rejoin the group ride.

Had same issues on Windows over the last 2 weeks. Had problems with freezing mid ride a couple of years ago which seemed to sort itself out. I have also raised a ticket so will see what comes back.

happened twice in the past 5 days. The last one was a crash right after I completed a race. The race shows up in the activity list, but seems to be corrupt; i.e. just shows miles completed and date, with no other information, and doesn’t recognize it as a race. Suspect that’s because zwift crashed and the file/ upload is corrupt. checked the log file and see some error with trying to create a folder (using windows 10 PC). FIT file was also corrupt, but repaired on https://www.fitfiletools.com to load on strava

Does anyone have a solution?

Well had my first one. But it was 3hrs in to a long distance race. Right at the top of the Alpe… So disappointing. I really want to ride 4 Horseman again… Lmao

Regular Apple TV 4K user here since it debuted. I have not seen any crashes as described above. Here are a few tips/checks for those experiencing issues:

  • Manually check that the Apple TV OS is updated. Even if auto-update is enabled, it is not instantaneous. Make it a habit to periodically check if you are experiencing issues or if you see something in the news about Apple releasing updates.
  • Manually check that the Zwift app is updated. Again, even if auto-update is enabled, it is not immediate.
  • While not Apple TV related, it is Zwift related. Regularly check that your Companion app is updated as well.
  • Always force quit Zwift after each ride. This includes if you want to change worlds or want to do back to back events.
  • Make sure your Apple TV is getting adequate cooling.
  • There is no need to restart the Apple TV aside from if it restarts itself after an TV OS update.

From another forum…

I’m having the same issue as you and I’ve tried all the fixes but nothing works. The screen goes green with stripes for a split second and then apple tv restarts. This only started about a month ago, the same time that everyone was quarantining, so I’m wondering if there is a correlation, whether it is the number of people or the updates. The game crashes even when Im in spectating mode or during in ride settings menu

Fixes Ive Tried
Resetting Apple Tv
Reinstalling Zwift
Turning On Match Content in Video Settings
Lowering Apple TV resolution
Updating Zwift, Apple TV, Companion App to latest
Force Quitting after each ride
Moving Apple TV for better Cooling and Network connectivity / switch internet connection
Turning off all Bluetooth connections/devices

I hate to say it but I’ve switched to other training platforms until this issue gets resolved.

Same issue here…
Tour for All, 2nd time in 3 days that Zwift crashes during a full effort race, working very hard in the pack. Been using zwift for more that a year (10 000 km+) and getting very annoyed with this.

Super strong pc - i7, 32gb Ram, no other apps running (normally during endurance rides, I have a full programming session without issues)

Since I changed the ATV settings, as Ive posted above, Im not having any problems - no crashes since.

Hi all,

I originally started this topic and I have been fortunate in that I haven’t had any crashes for probably 3 weeks or more. Zwift eventually got back to me (but only 5 days ago) and said they were aware of some crashes but hopefully it was fixed in an App update - which really is what I suggested to them anyway :frowning:
So sorry, I have nothing to add and I hope you all get sorted soon. It’s a shame that Zwift don’t seem too interested in fixing the issues but I understand they’d be pretty busy right now.

Good luck !!

Cheers,

Damon

Crashed twice during the last month, both during events so it was pretty much frustrating. Running on a high end gaming PC rig so no lack of processing power here.
I’m running Zwift for almost 5 yrs, never had a crash till lately.
Should say that lately the in-game behavior was a bit erratic too, riders disappearing, floating, riders in my peloton rubber-banding back and forth.
I’m a techie so I’m not too scandalized with bugs and crashes, I’m keeping my cool telling myself it’s just like getting a flat during a race IRL.
Still I’m mega pissed that I can’t go back into a race after I crashed :frowning:

Are you running an edited config file? Heard of some people on PC getting crashes in France when using tweaks like boosted foliage. Going back to stock has sorted it.

Crashed with stock configuration, in France and Watopia.
I am suspecting Windows updates in the background.
I’m updating Windows and the nVidia drivers, for good measure and hope for the best
