Hi All. First post, so hopefully I’m not asking something too obvious…
Just started using my TacX Flux S with Zwift last week, and all good, using laptop with Windows 10.
Figured since i have a Garmin 235 with built in HRM, i should try to connect for Heart rate data.
Since i dont have an Ant+ dongle, but my phone (onePlus 5T) has ANT+ built in i can just use the Zwift app on my phone (and maybe cast to a TV or Monitor if it works). However ive been having some issues connecting…
All seem to connect ok…
my smarttrainer (TacX Flux s) connected via bluetooth and my HRM via Ant+
but found it to be very buggy with timeouts and error messages flashing at the bottom of the screen and both connections continuously dropping out…
Then tried connecting using Ant+ for both HRM and SmartTrainer, and again, seemed ok, but again, dropouts galore.
Any thoughts? Is there anything wrong with my approach/setup?
I think it is:
ANT Radio Service
ANT USB Service
ANT+ Plugins Service
There is another one listed on my tablet, ANT HAL Service, but I don’t see that on the Play store.
My tablet doesn’t have built-in ANT+, but does work with an ANT+ USB stuck plugged in.
I’ve got a Samsung S10E that has Ant+. Ant Tester tells me everything is working. I downloaded a random App to test heart rate and that connected. But, I’m not getting anything with Zwift. Not sure if I’m missing something that doesn’t work with my setup. I see a Ant icon on the desktop app, but never seen anything on the phone (companion) app.
I have:
Kinetic Road Machine Control Trainer (ant/bt model)
Can connect Zwift through computer or phone for Smart controls. Bluetooth only working on both.
I’m trying to connect the following two w/ Zwift using Ant+:
Garmin Heart Rate (Ant+ only)
Garmin cadence sensor (Ant+ only)
HI Andrew,
Did you tap the Ant icon, and do you see it “emanating waves” like the bluetooth icon does?
ANT+ is disabled by default, we did this back when we were beta-testing.
We should prob remove that step now, or make it more clear that you need to tap icon to enable.
The Ant Icon (on Desktop App) is not emanating waves. And, not sure if I should get an icon or not on my phone (like Bluetooth). On the Android app (companion) there’s no reference to Ant+ anywhere I can find.
When I tap the Ant Icon on Desktop, nothing happens. How is the sync supposed to work? Should I get any feedback within the Android App?
+1 for ANT FEC support pllllleeeeaaase! the manufacturer (tacx ) of my trainer is no longer supporting there own trainers that have ant fec support. My “genius” trainer is ironically incapable of anything right now.
What am I doing wrong, ant icon isn’t radiating like the bt one? Samsung galaxy s9
Matt
Edit: for gods sake, why do I need to tap the ant icon. What a load of crap. It needs to be the same modus operandi across all platforms. Who is supervising the dev teams. Basic stuff guys.
Thanks for the response, I only missed one workout because of it. That update needs rushing out, think of all the users that could be using zwift on mobile devices that are being frustrated the first timd they try. Lockdown is a great user recruitment tool for zwift
Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but I’m using Samsung S10. Out of 10 races, the app has crashed on 3 of them - kicked me out completely. Had to open again, re-pair all devices etc, can continue the ride but completely kicked out of the race. Very frustrating, now having to look at spending hundreds of £££ on more stable alternatives…?
Hi Oliver, welcome to the forums. Sorry for the bad experience. 3/10 ??? that is unacceptable. Our nominal crash rates for users is around 0.5 - 1.0%. (still too high, but with 3500 supported devices, it’s tough to triage all crashes)
Can you please email support@zwift.com so we can get your logs and other details? The S10 is a relatively new phone, and has plenty of memory and power, etc.
Thank you for the report.
Will
Thanks Will. I did open a case on there a couple of days ago, but will send an email to that address as itll allow me to attach the log files as well. Have now got apple tv on order as it’s been frustrating so far, but hopefully the log files will give you some clues on this issue
