Announcing Zwift Play

ciao volevo sapere se zwift play è compatibile con tacx neo bike

I think they will attach to the handlebars OK. Looking at photos of the Neo Bike, those gear levers look very chunky:

But DC Rainmaker has a photo on his review that has a similarly large lever, and it looks like they’re fine.

@Domenico_Vallone_ITA according to Announcing Zwift Play - #52 by shooj the Play isn’t compatible with the Neo Bike, after all, due to those shifters.

If you already have a Sterzo what does this offer?

Braking.
Possibly easier access to the action bar.
Whatever other things they think up over the next couple of years.

There have been lots of hints at auto corner-braking, so I can only assume Zwift is letting you brake whenever you want.

I generally have a towel draped from side-to-side, covering the hoods and tops. Not sure how well these will work if I can’t even see them. Maybe time to figure out a different sweat set-up.

Will braking be available from the keyboard?

When are Australia likely to be included? Take my money!

I tried to buy but can only select ship to US.

As an ATV user, the limited number of BT connections would make this a non-starter.

For me, the companion app BT bridge is way too unreliable and flakey, to the point where my Assioma power meter pedals are now simply a very expensive pair of clip-in pedals.

Will the top buttons and side buttons configurable (not the paddles)? Because i think that having the powerup button on the side buttons will be better for when sprinting on the drops instead of the workout intensity thing @shooj

Control of several things at your fingertips that you might otherwise not have.

If you have a keyboard within reach, less so, although the Ride On return and Ride On bomb aren’t doable from a keyboard as far as I recall. Ride On return with a mouse, sure, if you can click on the orange thumb.

There’s the braking too, which again you can’t do with a Sterzo or keyboard - although it’s not yet clear to me when I’d want to deliberately slow myself down other than maybe not overshooting the front of the pack, or maintaining position in a pace line.

I figured it out. Ordered it!!

I think it’s clear that braking as a mechanic is coming to the game at some point.

can’t you do most of that from the companion app

Sure. Not the Ride On return, AFAIK.

But not everyone uses Companion, or has somewhere to put a phone within reach, and certainly can’t steer or brake with Companion. Some people might not even have a device to run Companion on.

It’s just an alternative controller, and options are always welcome.

I expect so. But the penalties for not braking will need to be relatively harsh if it’s to add much value; and if they’re too harsh that will handicap those who don’t have a braking controller, so I assume it’ll be a feature of some events and not others.

Crit city becomes fully controllable Crit course… Braking and steering for all events.

Might make a difference to the PD changes…

Yeah the halfway house approach just makes it a poor experience for all. The penalty for braking has to handicap those without a controller… or what’s the point in having one. Then the question is, is that fair? Or will it be configurable event by event? What about the big ones, ZRL etc?

My approach would be to enforce it in all events, and make it accessible to everyone with different options… companion app, keyboard shortcuts, etc.
