Alternatives to ZWL

I’m trying to sort an alternative way of using Zwift on my Power Mac, although it has Bluetooth, it’s an old variant 2.0+EDR which is flakey and limited.

I understand I can get an ANT+ dongle for my Mac to directly pair with my speed and cadence sensor but is the other method, dedicated Bluetooth option worthwhile too?

If I go the other Bluetooth option, is there any benefit?

Perhaps it will be more reliable since it is hardware vs BLE which is over the air; sorry no Mac experience.

If you have ANT+ speed and cadence it would make sense to get ANT+ dongle and then use that to connect to speed/cadence and the smart trainer (assuming its ANT+).

As far as I can tell if you connect to the trainer using ANT+ FEC then it has the only  advantage that you can do a spindown in game (a spanner appears in the pairing menu enabling this to be done).
