Will Zwift HR connection to Airpod Pro 3s?
The AirPods Pro 3 are not capable of broadcasting a Bluetooth signal to 3rd party apps. They will only work with Apple software on an Apple device. This restriction means they can’t connect to Zwift or any other 3rd party app/device.
This is only partially correct. The Apple Watch heart rate sensor is supported in zwift through the iOS app. The AirPods Pro sensor can be supported the same way (and may already be since the AirPods Pro and Apple Watch seem to work together to get “the best” data). If you connect an Apple Watch to your session you may be getting AirPods data too. It would be nice if someone from zwift could confirm.
Apple does allow third party apps to read heart rate data via specific APIs. Strava has already implemented it.
