1.69.0 Login freeze

Zwift has been working fine for the past week, then today it refuses to get past the “successful login page”. Have done the usual and updated graphic driver, which was to go date, reinstalled Zwift and updated it and also left Zwift to open for half hour, all to no effect other than to use up my workout time annoyingly. Anyone else having issues today?

Internet connection is fine and 400+mbs download speed and 75mbs upload speed, hence not a connection issue, as proved by Zwift updating itself after reinstall.

Working fine for me. It’s likely something local to your machine that’s triggering the problem. You can contact support and have them look at the game log.

Which GPU do you have and which driver version? What are the system specs?

Given it was working a few days ago on same machine and spec hasn’t changed then it’s not the computer spec

Given the specs and driver version I might be able to make a suggestion for something to try, but if you contact support they have access to a lot of that info without any effort on your part.

Other standard things to try on Windows machines are disabling OneDrive, disabling any anti-virus software other than Defender, disabling video screenshots (which you would need to do by editing prefs.xml since you can’t get to the settings interface). Also when you reinstall the game you need to purge all of the configs as well, so if you didn’t do that you could try that as well.

On the off-chance that this is a network issue (which I doubt but it’s not out of the question) you could also reboot all of your network equipment.

That’s the thing, I have the machine parred right back and it was working fine on the 12th July and then today it’s not. Last windows update was on the 10th so it shouldn’t be it, but uninstalling it anyway.

I will try a full reboot of roll back doesn’t work, and reboot router and computer, just seems as you say unlikely given everything else is working.

It’s not the first time over the years I’ve had random Zwift issues and it’s normally come down to a Zwift update. It’s one of the things I find most frustrating about Zwift is its ability to suddenly stop working.

Definitely something weird going on. Uninstalled Zwift and deleted the folders, then rebooted pc and network, but when I reinstalled Zwift it didn’t ask for username it already had my id, as if stored in a register rather than in the Zwift folder.

Credentials are in %TEMP%\..\Zwift\launcher\webview

Thanks. I found the “hidden” folder and deleted everything possible zwift related from the hard drive. Did a fresh download and fresh install, which did ask for credentials this time, and it is still hanging up at the same place. I have put a support request in as it does not make any sense given it was working four days ago. Just annoying as today and thursday are the two days this week I can train on the turbo taking into account other commitments and today has now been lost along with several hours of my days trying to sort it out all to no avail.

If I were in your situation I would run it on a phone or tablet until the Windows issue is sorted since that would make training possible

On the off chance you are using Intel integrated graphics I would get the driver from Intel and not from Microsoft

Thanks. It certainly is a Intel CPU and if I remember correctly it is an integrated GPU so I will check the driver, although struggling to see how that would change from four days ago. I am trying to avoid having to get the tablet or laptop out, but you are right until someone can figure out what the issue is, then it would be the only way. Just annoying as I have a nice dual screen zwift setup and until today its been running well, unlike when I used to use a tablet.

Hi @Andrew_Comley

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I looked at your server logs and have questions.
I noticed that your PC was using Zwift launcher version 1.1.12 as of your last successful session on July 10. By “successful” I mean you save-and-exited the standard way following a ride. After that - I see a series of logins without log outs. This is consistent with the app freezing and/or crashing.

Question: did you do the standard app uninstall in the Windows Control Panel?

There is a more complete process to delete everything related to Zwift (instructions here). I’d like to ask that you move your custom workout files first, then nuke everything Zwift-related.
Lastly - please download and install the latest package for Windows which includes launcher version 1.1.13.

I have already done that and no my most recent workout and successful workout was on the 12th July.

Those instructions are actually incomplete as they don’t include going into the hidden appdata folder to delete the files there to ensure an absolutely clean install. The first time I did it I was surprised Zwift retained my login details after install, the second time after deleting from appdata it didn’t. Both times I did a fresh download from the Zwift website, so if the installer is wrong then it’s wrong on the Zwift website.
