If you join a team, why are you locked to that team to show in your profile, why isn’t there an option to have the team “blank”, the only choice is to leave the team?
Because they never implemented that option, and it’s fair to guess that they never will given that ZwiftPower receives minimal development work as we wait for it to die. There is a team called “None” however. What a bunch of misfits they are.

You can join a team for any or each race you do in that race’s settings and not join a team (or join a different team) to show in your profile.
So if you leave the team on ZwiftPower to leave it blank on your profile you could still represent them every race. Which I is what you were asking for? It requires a lot more fiddling around, but it is doable.
