Zwift soft crash on Blue Z loading screen

My old laptop’s fan bit the dust, so used my new laptop to install zwift from scratch and it will not load past the blue Z loading screen after music starts playing with a faint “log in” in the background. One click anywhere makes the screen turn grey, and a second click soft crashes where the whole program stops responding and must be closed manually. I have gone through all the troubleshooting on previous threads including running as an admin, updating microsoft edge and extensions, changing the clock setting, uninstalling and reinstalling, installing on desktop. My computer has the following:
Processor: AMD RYZEN AI MAX+ 365 w/ Radeon 8060S (3.00 GHz)
RAM: 32GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon ™ 8060S Graphics (4GB)
System Type: 64-bit OS, x64-based processor

For final reference, I have never installed Zwift on this PC prior to today.

There have been some similar symptoms reported on similar hardware. I think these were resolved by disabling Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows settings, but a second workaround of editing the prefs.xml file and setting fullscreen to “1” also seemed to work. Note that the prefs.xml file has moved since this topic came up and is now located in %LocalAppData%\Zwift
