Zwift running super slow and not displaying everything

I tried to log on last week to do one of the Baseline sessions, but when I loaded up Watopia, all I could see were bikes and any headgear, no riders. When the event started, the animation was slow and jerky to the point of being unrideable.

Since then I’ve tried to load up but the programme gets stuck just before the screen where you synch your bike with the game.

I have uploaded the most recent update, which may be causing the problem.

Any suggestions?

Please share some information about what you are running the game on. If it’s a PC, let me know which CPU and GPU it has, and the amount of RAM.

When riders disappear but bikes remain, that is a sign of CPU exhaustion.

Hi, @Pru_Comben , welcome to Forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.

Glitches and lagging while riding can totally mess with the flow and make it hard to enjoy the game.

After reviewing your account, I noticed that you have a good CPU: the Intel(R) Core™ i9-9980, paired with a GeForce GPU GTX 1650. It seems that the issues you’re experiencing may be related to outdated graphics drivers, as my colleague mentioned earlier. I recommend uninstalling Zwift and then downloading the latest driver manually from the official NVIDIA website.

Additionally, check the task manager on Windows while opening Zwift to see if there are any background apps overlapping the resources on your PC.

Please, follow all the steps in this article to narrow down the issue:

Issues With Zwift Crashing.

I was having similar issues on a brand new laptop. Made no sense, because it has 4x the RAM, faster CPU, graphics, etc. What ultimately fixed it was not having my phone plugged in to USB to charge up while riding. Everything’s smooth and gorgeous until I plug in my phone, then it goes to almost unusable frame rates. Unplug, and it’s instantly perfect again.

I suggest not plugging in phones, external drives, thumbdrives, SD cards, or anything else, and see if it helps.
