Zwift Ride with Tacx Neo 2T vs Wahoo Kicker core

I’m getting back on zwift after a year long hiatus. This would be my very first smart bike/trainer purchase.

I am trying to save myself a bunch of research by asking you this, but if I go with Zwift Ride on Tacx Neo 2T setup rather than the Zwift recommended Wahoo Kicker core Would I be missing out on any features at all?

Also, is the Garmin Alpine compatible with Zwift ride (with Tacx Neo 2T of course)?

If you’re wondering why go with Garmin from the first place, my answer is I like the brand, and I’m interested in the gravel/cobble stone feature of the Tacx (admittedly without even trying it)…

Thanks

Nothing important IMO. I don’t think the Neo can do ERG mode power smoothing, but I’m not a fan of that feature. The main benefit of the Core is price, and the Neo firmware update to enable virtual shifting has not been out for very long so I don’t have high confidence that any bugs in it are well understood yet.

No. None of the automatic incline products like the Alpine are compatible with the Ride.

If you haven’t read the topic about the new firmware, I recommend it:
