A new Zwift Recumbent Trike is available in everyone’s Garage with game update 1.114. This new ride option brings a different style of cycling to Watopia, giving Zwifters another way to represent how they ride. Whether you’re looking to mix up your in-game setup or ride something that better reflects your real-world experience, the recumbent trike is ready to roll.
The recumbent trike is available to everyone in the Garage. No Drops needed—just select it and start riding.

How does it work with draft when riding in front or behind.

Does this get draft when behind a road bike ?

Does a road bike get draft when riding behind this ?

How is it when two of these are riding behind eachother ?

But as far as I know Eric is not working for Zwift so I would expect this info from Zwift when they put new stuff in the game.

Zwift might have told us how the handcycle drafts when that was released, so there is some precedent for those types of details… :man_shrugging:

Yes, they did.
As well as in the release notes, so it’s not like information about the drafting was added to FAQ later.
No such FAQ yet for the recumbent.

Ahh so no draft for roadbikes when being behind one of these, if they are the same as the handbike.

An exclusion for races would be nice.

The Burrito is probably my most disliked thing in Zwift, so that should answer your question :wink:

I have seen races being ruined by handbikes already a few times, and am afraid it will only get worse with these new addidtions.

Confirming: draft effect for the Zwift Recumbent Trike is the same as the Zwift Handcycle.

  • Trike gets 100% draft behind another trike or handcycle.
  • Trike gets 50% draft behind a conventional bike.
  • Conventional bike gets no draft behind trike or handcycle.

hmm 160km for first upgrade. So this is a Mid Tier Frame, so only drops multiplier at level 5 and more drops and km needed than the handbike.

Thats a bummer.

Bummer indeed. I was looking forward to riding my almost same IRL bike (ICE VTX), but not without the 5% bonuses :unamused_face:

Jokes on the users; another garage item that can’t be hidden away and makes scrolling garage worse due to its implementation on PC.

Will this also break Pack Dynamics in rides with set bikes the same way the handcycle does?

So; reminder to ride leaders to inform their users if anyone is on a handcycle or recumbent on a forced frame ride… to avoid using this just like the handcycle unless they want a really good workout.

If you got three next to eachother in a group ride it might be a good workout fort those behind it also since they get no draft. Could split up groups easily if used in masses.

Hmmm trying it now, but it looks pretty slow so far.
