Hi everyone, I am looking at purchasing a cheap single speed bike to be used solely on the trainer (Specifically the Decthlon ELOPS single speed 500 city bike) although it has 120mm dropouts i was hoping it would be compatible with the Velobike adapter to convert the 120mm dropouts to 130mm?. I was also wondering that while the bike comes with a 120mm thru axle will I simply be able to purchase a longer thru axle that would accommodate the extra width of the dropouts and put it in the range of being compatible with the Zwift hub one? Just wondering if anyone has any information on this, Thanks in advance for any help.
It should work with the velobike adapter, though you might want to check with velobike to make sure before purchasing.
The bike has a solid axle, not a thru-axle. You would use it with a quick release skewer. The axle in that wheel stays in the wheel and would not be installed in the trainer.
Also you would need to install a longer chain to accommodate the adapters so you would not be able to easily switch it between indoor and outdoor use.
