Zwift Hub - 9-Speed - Zwift Cog compatibility

Hi everyone,

I originally bought a Zwift Hub with the 9-speed cassette (to match an older 9-speed Shimano Dura-Ace setup). I’m now moving to a bike with Shimano GRX 11-speed and have two questions:

  1. Will the existing 9-speed cassette on the Zwift Hub work with an 11-speed Shimano GRX drivetrain? (Guess not?)

  2. If not, I’m thinking of switching to the Zwift COG. Besides the COG itself, do I need any additional parts to mount it on the Zwift Hub (e.g., spacers, lockring, specific tools, Freehub Body, etc.)?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards from Tyrol,
Andreas

It will not work. You would need an 11 speed cassette.

The Cog is sold with a freehub body that will fit your Zwift Hub. It would also fit on your old freehub, but they try to make installing it as easy as possible for people who don’t have the tools to remove a cassette from a freehub.

Hi Paul,
thank you for your fast answer - so the way to go is: buy COG, simply install on Zwift Hub - no other parts needed, have fun, right?
perfect!

The only other thing you need is really solid Bluetooth performance from whatever you’re running the game on. Sometimes pairing the Click shifter can reveal that it’s not so good.
