Just be nice if once zwift put some thought into what they do with Zwift racing. There a director of racing somewhere in the world thinking, yip nailed this.
If a lack of heart data is going to result in a post-race DQ, why are racers without a heart rate monitor allowed to start the race and distrupt the racing of those with a HRM in the Zwift Games?
But on the negative side, we still have no way of seeing if those racers not registered on zwiftpower are changing their weight and/or height between races.
And the Racing Score filter bands should match up with ranges 1 and 2, not another random band that is simply splitting everyone into groups of 100 points.
Edit: And just discovered the riders DQed on zwiftpower for a lack of HRM are in the link above!
Yeah, these are no way a replacement for ZwiftPower. It’s a baby step in a long road ahead, I guess – although, edit, I just realised I can click on a result to go through to a result page with some more information on.
For example, it says I’m “493 of 2005” overall, which includes everyone.
I can filter by “300-400” ZRS, but then don’t get a visible ranking within that subset. I can page through the table to find I’m 56th, but have to go to the last page to find it’s out of 496 at the moment.
Still, as things stand I’m 8/63 for UK-flagged 300-400 ZRS riders.
It’d be nice to have a ranking within my pace group too, or to be able to set my own upper and lower limits on the ZRS range.
I’d say at least I’d like to see the range I’m racing in (270-390). I appreciate there are two sets of race ranges, but it seems disjointed not to reflect those in favour of 100-wide groupings.
Poor Marco lost most of his legs in the last week, but they could re-attach his feet, reducing his height from 160cm to 91cm and reducing his weight from 60Kg to 50Kg.
But at least he is 76th in the 700-800 category.
And that’s someone registered on zwiftpower, who knows what silly changes will happen to those not registered on zwiftpower!
It’s a shame that they decided to filter by Country, but not by Age. They could have easily made it Gender/Age and had the 10 years for “All”, “Male” and “Female”. Also, they should have allowed filtering on “Male” as well as “All” or “Female”
Is there a problem with that, I’m exactly going to go slow in those races just for the unlocks. I’ll stay at the back and out of the way of anyone else,
If the rides are pancake flat like most are and probably dominated by bots or Zpower types then no point to kill myself for something I cannot win.
I’ll still have dual power recording and heart rate - more than some would do…
And there is the reason I don’t trust virtual races.
This seems to be a zwift issue moreso than an inherent part of virtual racing.
It’s a culture of including the individual at the expense of the community.
I will say that there are some impressive riders out there, during a pre-ride of ZG25 Queen I watched a rider with a race score of 949 effortlessly (it must have been effortless, since he registered “0” HR) go up the combination of Mayan and Itza climbs with a steady 400 Watts the entire way, not to shabby for a 60+ year old. It almost reminded me of my days riding in Austin Texas and having Lance Armstrong go by on the hard climbs.
Did you register? I did the race this morning and the companion app shows no completion while the website show my results. I didn’t register until after the event (doh!). I’ll do the event again later in the week and see if there’s a difference.
Despite repeated calls to stomp out impossible performances nothing happens.
This shouldn’t be required for a heap of people to flag the rider, it should be automatic.
If your observations are right then that 60yo should be riding for a world tour pro team right now. Don’t ever call them out, they just reckon you are a whining complainer.
