Didn’t something similar need development to get some trainers to vibrate in order to emulate gravel/bumpy courses? Hardly a core necessity.
Core temperature was just added that needs a linkage with the Corebodytemp company’s product to get your Heat Strain Index numbers..was this more sought after than L/R power?
I much prefer Ant+ as it is much quicker and more hassle free to connect. Can’t you at least make it so we won’t have to unpair our pm pedals, connect trainer as pm, connect trainer as resistance, unconnect trainer as pm, connect pm pedals as power and cadence!
You’ve missed my point. I’m not saying strip out non-core functionality. Nobody wants to stare at a wall.
I am saying that if you’re looking to invest in a new feature, especially if that feature requires striking deals with a variety of third parties, then there should be a return on the investment.
Virtual shifting is core functionality with a (presumably) good return on investment. Both for Zwift and for their partner companies.
I don’t see how inaccurate L/R balance from trainers is worth the investment from either Zwift or the partner companies. How many net subscriptions do you think Zwift would get if they did this work? How many additional trainers would be sold? Would this be a good use of resources from either side?
I have a dual sided PM because I want accurate data, not 2 x left leg which may or may not be accurate or even consistent. I don’t care about L/R data at all.
I’m somewhat interested in L/R data because I injured my left knee a couple years ago and I still “think” I’m favoring the right leg even though I’m putting in a lot of focus to try and maintain power with the left leg. My IRL bike has a lefty 4iiii power meter and the shop told me I can’t fit a 4iiii on my right crank given their compatibility chart.
My Zwift setup does not have L/R support since I’m using a Wahoo Kickr Core but if it did I would at least be interested in seeing that data and if I’ve been slowly starting to get back to parity in power on each leg or not.
Zwift will be decked out soon with all manner of Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift regalia. Patience! The IRL race doesn’t start for another couple weeks.
Well, you might want a more responsive power reading. I imagine with a L only meter you get a more spiky reading than with both pedals giving power numbers (twice as many data points for the same amount of time etc).
I’d have thought the opposite, 3s power is a smoother line than 1s power for example, the bit between the power readings would be averaged out wouldn’t it?
