Zwift crashes mid route

I use a samsung galaxy 7 FE tablet for my zwift rides which has worked fine until now. Every time im on zwift the app crashes and reboots. Itmay do it 2 mins in or 30. Ive checked my internet connection and added a booster to the room but its still happening. If im mid route the time and distance are saved but not route progress. Finding this sxtremely frustrating as the longer routes are not achievable!

Hi @mark_holmes2, welcome to Forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.

Since your Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE was working fine before, let’s go through some troubleshooting steps to isolate this matter.

Reduce Graphics Load

  • Lowering the resolution and detail settings in Zwift can help prevent crashes. You can do this under Zwift’s settings.
  • Try closing other background apps to free up system memory.
  • If the crashes continue, uninstall and reinstall Zwift

Check for Updates

  • Make sure your Zwift app is fully updated in the Google Play Store.
  • Check for any pending system updates on your tablet.

Clear Cache & Storage

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Zwift > Storage and tap Clear Cache.
  • If that doesn’t help, try Clear Data (this will reset Zwift, so you’ll need to log in again).

If none of these fix it, it could be worth testing Zwift on another device (like your phone or PC) to see if the issue is specific to the tablet. Hope this helps, and let us know if anything works for you!

FYI, Zwift made changes to the graphics profile for some Android devices recently. They didn’t share details about exactly which devices got this change, but it’s possible that your tablet did. I don’t know if this caused your crashes but perhaps @evan-zwift can check your logs to see if it’s possibly related to that change.

We made some changes to the backend to hopefully address this. Is this issue still occurring for you Mark?

Thanks,
Diarmaid

Thanks for the info. Will give it a go.

Thanks for the info. Trainer not working…waiting of wahoo to get back to me. Will give it a go when im back up and running. Cheers.

Hi – I am having the same issue, with a similar Samsung Galaxy A7 tablet. I’ve reported it separately (topic name “Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 - Frequent Crashes”). I have had some success with the annoying Shutdown - Restart - Clear Zwift Cache sequence, but it still crashes occasionally. Hoping that they find the answer; the crashes lose your ride data.
