I am running Zwift on iPad with a USB C Ethernet connection and my companion app doesn’t seem to be able to connect to it in game.
What device are you using for the companion app and are they on the same wifi network?
Does it connect if you don’t use the Ethernet adapter? That would imply something wrong in the network equipment. If it ever worked previously, I would start by rebooting all of the network gear. To rule out any issues with Companion falling back to cellular data, you can also put the Companion device in airplane mode and then enable WiFi manually so the cellular radio is off.
Using iPhone. Both iPad and iPhone on most recent software. No network issues. Devices on same network.
Does iPhone companion only connect via WiFi to iPad app?
I have used Companion on an iPhone with an ethernet adapter and it worked. It does need to be on your LAN and sometimes having devices on two different WiFi frequencies causes problems. I think it depends on how the network equipment handles it.
Yeah I said that backwards. Devices are on same vlan. I have the iPad wired with usbc Poe adapter and WiFi disabled.
What happens if you pull out the Ethernet adapter and put it on WiFi? I’m still suspicious that this is something related to the network equipment that defeats the discovery process.
No idea Paul. This all worked fine with Ethernet appletv and same iPhone. So methinks it’s a swift issue
Finished the ride, rebooted iPad, toggled permissions and disabled cellular access in the iPad. Was able to connect to companion. So either it’s a priority order issue or something else in the app
