The bug is not fixed. July 2nd and I still have the same issue.

I have tried uninstall and reinstall - no joy
I have tried force quit and relaunch - no joy
I have tried a different device - no joy
About ready to give up on the app now. Pity they seem to think the issue is resolved.
It could be that the app doesn’t have support for your device. For Android the minimum requirement is Android 5, and for iOS it’s iOS 11.

its a shame that Zwift cannot seem to get anything right, period.
My iPhone 5 has served me well for years, perfect for Zwift companion, believe it or not it still works as a phone, but it will not work for Zwift companion anymore as its limit is iOS 10.

I don’t want to join the ranks of annoyed Zwift users as I have enjoyed Zwift for a number of years. I have always been happy to try and show a positive outlook and voice for Zwift but this has really annoyed me and I guess countless others.
