Zwift Click v2 won't connect directly to computer

Hello all,

Just received my new Cog & Click v2, everything works properly when using Zwift Companion as a bridge, but when trying to connect the Click directly to my computer I’m stuck on this :

And it won’t connect

I already updated the firmware to 1.1.0, updated my trainer, did a lot of stuff that was mentioned on the forum

Any other tips ?

Regards, Lucas

Are you perhaps connecting with ANT+? You must use Bluetooth.

The screenshot implies they are being seen so Bluetooth okay. I would click on the CONTROLS box and then select the checkbox next to the Zwift Click and click OK. The CONTROLS list can include multiple controls (I for example have both Click 1 and Click 2 controllers) and so needs to be told which of those you want to use.

I am indeed using Bluetooth you’re right, I previously saw that ANT+ can cause issues

I only have one possible option in the “controls” list which is the Click v2, and already did what you suggested

It works with Zwift Companion but it’s not convenient to have a bridge. Eventually I could use them this way but I’d prefer a fix

If it works with Companion, then I would want to try a different Bluetooth adapter in the computer. What kind of machine is it and which Bluetooth adapter are you using now?

Weird to me because the trainer is being recognized, I also tried with my Sony headset, tried to upgrade the Bluetooth drivers : it seems to be alright

I’m using a Bluetooth 5.3 dongle that I just bought because this is a desktop computer without Bluetooth natively

Can’t tell what is the fix and what caused this bug, but gave it another try this morning just to check and this happened :

EDIT : Still bugged because they went idle and I have the same issue as in #1

I don’t know which dongle you are using but I can recommend the Edimax BT-8500 or TP-Link UB500 (same chipset in both). I run the dongle on a 2m extension cable so it sits below the handlebars. It should be plugged into a USB 2 port on the PC since USB 3 ports can generate radio interference that affects 2.4GHz devices.

ANT+ have to be really close but it’s not really the case with Bluetooth : it should handle the distance between the Click and the dongle (~1m)

But for the USB 3.0 you’re right, I’ll definitely check if I have 2.0 ones on my computer cause I’m sure I’m using 3.0 on the dongle rn

I’ll check if it’s the same chipset, eventually I’ll return my dongle and get the one you’re talking about but I’m pretty sure mine should work fine

It should handle the distance, but you are having problems and that is one more thing you can do if necessary. Bluetooth benefits from having clear line of sight, and it can benefit from being moved away from other sources of interference coming from the PC itself. If you weren’t experiencing problems that could be related to Bluetooth performance, I would say “you’re done” and not bother with an extension cable.

Found an extension cable and doesn’t solve the issue, I’m sometimes able to connect but it just goes idle and impossible to reconnect again

Issue doesn’t seem to be the USB now since the extension is 2.0

I have ordered a TP-Link dongle and hope it will work fine

Edit : Just came back with a TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth 5.4 and it seems to work perfectly.
