Zwift App Metal On iMac with macOS Ventura

My Zwift app is currently 1.1.1(1), and it just updated again today, though that didn’t change the version from the last update.
My iMac is a 5K 27-inch 2020, 3.6 GHz 10-core i9, Radeon Pro 5700 XT with 16GB of VRAM.
Current macOS is Ventura 13.1.

I don’t recall when I noticed that my version of Zwift went over to the Metal version, only when I started noticing some graphics artifacts cropping up in the last few rides. Consistently the surface of water has these rectangular white blocks sprinkled around, occasionally in Watopia’s desert I noticed a couple of hillsides have wireframe patches, and the evergreen trees in shade coming into Sequoia Circle were drawn strangely. I have also noticed some butterflies today in London’s Richmond Park that I swear I have never seen before?

These graphics artifacts are very new to me, within the last week or so, so perhaps the Metal version had only been pushed out to me recently.

Thoughts…

There have been reports that much older Macs had issues with ZwiftAppMetal after the transition. You might try this workaround to see if it makes any difference. If it does you should probably contact support to report it.
