I was under the impression I had completed the ride and definitely completed the 3 sections (short, medium, long) which are also not showing on Zwift Academy despite them recording as PBs on the ride breakdown in activities.
Also noticed on the Zwift Academy rides it doesn’t show how long its ride is and how long is left of the particular workout or event.
Hi @Andrew_Hazeltine, I just found your activities in the companion app and you did not complete the baseline ride. The “finish” of the event was about 1 mile past the top of the volcano KOM. The total distance should have been 16.2 miles, and you went 15.5 miles.
Sorry, you will need to do it again if you want credit, or contact support at Zwift and see if they will give you credit manually (not sure they can do that however?).
@Mike_Rowe1 Thanks for that. Very disappointing, may be I wasn’t thinking straight after that climb which being new to all this found quite hard . However I am convinced there was nothing on screen telling me how far of the ride was left. That was also the same on Workout #1.
Understandable mistake, and you are correct there wasn’t anything obvious on screen to show you had to keep going. I’ve raised this with Zwift support and suggested they shorten the event to finish at the top of the KOM rather than 1400 meters past the KOM banner. You aren’t the only one this has happened to.
The lack of a distance to go indicator or any other clear sign that you have to go way past the volcano summit is a completely horrible and obvious mistake in the way it’s been set up. It’s hardly surprising loads of people have been caught out by it.
Other than that, today’s baseline ride was fine for me. Mechanics worked, segment data is in the CA, no email telling me how much I suck yet but it’s only been a few hours. Anyway it’s obvious enough what my riding is like, top 10%ile of my field on the volcano but somewhere down in the bottom half for the sprint!
Fair enough … but it then doesn’t look good when less than 7 hours after you post this, I receive my baseline email, still showing only an ! as the phenotype and with zero data in it, just like the ones posted in various places on the forum.
Come on Zwift. This is one of your flagship events and you can neither get it right, nor communicate properly with your users about the issues.
Anyone know in interpreting the baseline data (second email arrived today with data intact, so that seems to be working) what the percentile data mean? Percentile of what? The folks who were doing the baseline ride at the same time I did? All of the participants who have done a baseline ride in 2022? As compared against a broader dataset somewhere? Just curious. Knowing won’t really change anything about my life, but I’m curious just the same.
Thanks to everyone who flagged the missing baseline data emails that just went out again.
We have identified a small percentage of members that did receive the missing data but the majority got the email with the data in it. We are going through the list of members who have missing data to try to determine what is causing the issue we are seeing.
We are truly sorry for this less than desirable experience and hope to have a resolution soon
We have been able to identify the issue causing the missing information in the baseline data emails.
We confirmed that we’ve identified the correct cohort of members to receive the email based on completion of the baseline ride, but we are experiencing an issue with the ingestion of the data to be sent. We have escalated and hope to have this resolved (again) soon.
I completed the baseline ride yesterday evening and received my follow up email at 10:20am Mountain Time today. All of the data are missing, so it appears the issue is still not resolved.
