So, I did the 5 minute baseline test 2 days ago, ZRS jumped from 248 to 267. Did the unlocked stage 2 race yesterday, score showed a rise of 23 but only jumped from 267 to 270.
Just curious what I’m missing here as it’s only risen 3 points. ![]()

ZRS is a mess… the 5 minute test gave you a new seed score, but it doesn’t show you that so the next time you raced it increased or something like that. ![]()
The unlocked races are a total mess, we had an A Cat rider in the D Cat today he had a racing score of 844 and his results are suspect anyway.
Didn’t really care that much as I wasn’t racing it, just trying to get the event only route completion, finished the “Race” and kept riding for 60 min total but the few at the top are totally stuffing it up for others.
There should be no such thing as score decay, it should only decay if your racing. If you have time off then what’s to say your score went down, with actual outdoor riding your score has potentially gone up. If you want your score to go down you will have to start sandbagging several races and thus not getting any top place finishes, in fact to go from A Cat to D you are going to have to come last for months while your score drifts down. There should be no erratic changes possible in your score.
It’s a Visual problem…the Results are showing the Score from Last known ZRS Race to the NEXT.
248 to 270…so it means your true ZRS was 247.5ish and is 270,4ish…that is rounded to 23.
The New 5min baseline ZRS Seed is 267 but is at the moment overlooked in Results…this is getting fixed in next update of ZRS.
Ok, that makes sense. So my new seed score is 270 and I now won’t drop below this?
I checked my zwift profile which now shows 270 and 270 max. Is 270 max the seed?
I agree with your comments on ZRS decay, if you’ve been away for whatever reason and come back unfit, you should drop through racing instead of being put in a lower category which just makes it harder for others of that category.
The idea that people who postpone their zwift accounts, come back unfit after a summer of outdoor riding is also crazy! When a person freezes their account, the ZRS should also stay the same when re-activated.
Max is not seed. It is the highest that your ZRS has been in the last 30 days. Some races enforce pen assignment based on that max value instead of the current value. The purpose is to limit the benefits from riders tanking their score intentionally.
This might be a little confusing ?
But is likely caused by a new 5 min pb after my last ZRS race result. Hopefully it might update later this afternoon or next time I do a ZRS race.
I suspect I need to find a race using MAX score with a category boundary set at 150 to see if I can enter lower pen or not. ![]()
Yeah i think is an issue with new Seed being calculated after the race results are…and Max is showing your highest Race ZRS and not your current ZRS that was a result of post race move to Seed.
