What are your thoughts on Xert training tool?

Pros and Cons

  1. Free is really free…no credit card needed.
  2. Seamless sync to Zwift and Strava
  3. Claims to evaluate your fitness and AI training programs

Cons

  1. Workouts disappear after one day, you have to select and schedule
  2. Virtually a human free zone, when you need help there is only videos to assist you.

NOTICE
Xert price will be $15 a month starting in December 2024 (currently $10 month)
However, before December, you can pay an annual fee of $99.

Thanks Zee. Wrt workouts disappearing, if you have “Automatically schedule a workout-of-the-day” enabled (now enabled by default for new users), you should see a “For You” workout every day in Zwift without having to schedule it yourself. The default Training Program for new users is Continuous Training. This will choose a workout that essentially maintains a steady, manageable improvement in fitness week-to-week. Users are welcome to try out the other programs available during the trial. The AI plans will layout a training plan for you.

Cheers.

I haven’t even heard of it… what is it about?

Someone I ride with IRL uses it. Obviously to good effect as he’s fast (he previously earned one of those striped jerseys).

I don’t really need it.

I don’t remember the xert password, it sends me a reset and a link and on its page it gives me an error. Something wrong with this?
500 service error

I would rather have three suggested, and I can pick one for that day.
We’ll see if it gets better.
The first workout I did was set 200% better than I could ever do. 300 watts for one minute intervals, I have done that.
But, two minutes? Great fun, but not achievable.

There is only one “For You” workout at the moment so the best way to pick an alternative is to open Xert’s list of Recommended Training (panel that opens) and click the send paper-airplane and “Send Workout To” Zwift and it will immediately appear under "For You’.

In terms of the workout being too difficult, three things:

  1. Ensure you’re using simliar power data across all your recordings. Xert will set interval targets based on the higher power values in your history. You can flag/remove the recordings with higher power data.
  2. Pick an easier workout. They are labeled with diamands / difficulty score. Then send to Zwift.
  3. Reduce the degree of difficulty of all the recommended workouts using the “XSSR Preference” setting. Reload the page for a new set of recommended workouts.

If you’re still seeing stuff that doesn’t make sense. Send a note to support@xertonline.com. We’re super responsive to emalis and can review your data with you.

Thanks for your questions.

If it’s been a long time since you last accessed the system, it may have failed one of the upgrade processes. A lot has changed in the last couple of years. Contact support@xertonline.com and they’ll resolve it for you.

Yeah…still loads different workouts even when I schedule them.
Sounds like they still need to work on their system.
Seems like a bad time to hike prices from 10 to 15 a month.
