Wrong routes on update 1.33 - Maybe related to Makuri

I was in the DBR race and joined pens directly. Hard to estimate but majority followed wrong route (think not all). Heard the same for a tiny race where majority was send on asphalt route while planned route was gravel. People send on asphalt obviously won.

Severe bug somewhere that unfortunately has a huge negative impact on races. Zwift should setup their testing up from scratch again as there was the achievement thing last time and arguably this is even worse. Multiple smaller issues with previous bugdates.

So can we expect this to happen also in the other tiny race zones or is it anyoneā€™s guess, James?

@James_Zwift

FYI this happened this morning in the 8am EST Herd Climbers Gambit race too. Supposed to be up the Temple KOM Reverse via Kappa Quest Reverse but all bar about 2 of us were routed onto a different route

@James_Zwift - I wasnā€™t in those rides but can send you ones from the ZZRC ride that had the same problem ā€¦ I was a rider sent on the wrong route around Flatlands. Any use?

It was still tough enough for me Claus. Good to race against you though!

@James_Zwift - it appears to be related to whether or not youā€™ve updated your version of Zwift.

In Tiny Race 3, a small number were routed correctly (up the dirt) while the majority stayed on the pavement, on the wrong route. My theory is people who didnā€™t update their Zwift install with last weekā€™s update stayed on the dirt. (This is my theory becauseI know of two racers who purposely didnā€™t update - and both stayed on the dirt.)

Anyway, wanted to drop that to ya in case it helps.

So if people didnā€™t do the main update but just did the patch they were routed correctly?

Probably because thereā€™s so many of them.

Affected routes:

  • Country to Coastal
  • Makuri 40
  • Kappa Quest Reverse
  • Two Village Loop
  • Spirit Forest

Iā€™ve spent my morning (Chris did a bunch last night) changing the routes on any events that use these routes for today, tomorrow and Tuesday.

I rode Makuri 40 today and stayed on the the correct route.

I did a short custom workout to select the route and continued in free ride mode after that

Also heard of 2 other events that had this issue.

The Herd Thundering Turtles ride on 1/28 @ 9:30am (eastern) was scheduled for Country to Coastal but they ended up riding Flatland Loop Reverse.

And, The Herd Saturday Doughnut ride on 1/28 @ 7:15pm eastern was scheduled for Suki Playground but ended up riding Flatland Loop.

Also reports of a fair amount of riders not following the route and taking random turns.

Something definitely seems broken with routes in Makuri

Thanks, Iā€™ve flagged that this route may also be affected.

Same is happen right know. I was riding with Yumi. The group goes straight and I turned left on Castle tot Castle.

Was it just you or were there a large number of riders that went the wrong way? Are you on the latest version?

Only me

I donā€™t think that this will have been related to the issue weā€™ve been talking about here, as annoying as it must have been for you.

Uhm ok, didnā€™t touch the turn button and the name of my ride contains ā€œride with Yumiā€.

Yes. Thatā€™s my theory at least.

Seems that Wandering Flats is also affected.
DRAFT Sunday Race at 16:30 CET (3461984) was at least.
Majority of riders went clockwise (wrong way) out of the pens.
Could it be all routes with a Yumezi start pen?

I just did a race on Countryside Tour. At least, thatā€™s what we all expected.

Some people did turn off towards Temple KOM, but others like myself ended up riding Flatland Loop.

Here are examples from myself and someone else in the same Club event:
