Why UPG in a normal group ride (C) - it's not a race?

This morning, everybody who was not a “real C” rider had a UPG next to his name.

There were only 15 riders in the results, 53 in the unfiltered results.
This was not a race?

Yeah, I have to believe it was a mistake on the part of the organizer when they set it up. Anything classified as a “ride” shouldn’t have cat restrictions.
