Which freehub for SRAM 12-speed XDR?

Hey guys, I want to ride my bike with a SRAM Rival etap 12-speed on my Zwift hub. Obviously I need to buy a fitting XDR freehub, but which one? I bought one and it didnt fit my zwift hub (it was too long?). Are there any recommendations for freehubs which definitly fit or does anyone know what to look out for?

I couldnt find anything via Google. Apparently Zwift had fitting XDR freehubs in their own Shop sometime ago, but I cant find them anymore.

Thanks!

It’s been unavailable for a long time. I’ve looked around quite a bit without find any source. There’s been no indication from Zwift or Jetblack that it will be available again.

Hmmm… So nobody with XDR can ride their Zwift Hub? That would be sad.

I realize this is completely unhelpful in your situation, but I would call it a cautionary tale about buying any trainer that isn’t made by Wahoo, Tacx, or Elite and expecting long term parts availability of any kind.

Yeah, I suppose you are right about that.

I mean, i could use the Zwift Cog but that

  1. would limit me to using only Zwift as a Training Programm
  2. I am not even sure if the Cog is compatible with SRAM chains…

I thought that much more people would have this problem and there would be a solution by now. Like a third party manufacturer stepping in and releasing something.

I’d probably buy the cog and return it if it’s not good. I’m pretty sure they claim it works, but you’d have to judge for yourself.

You could still use ERG mode in other apps, and some other sim mode apps allow you to adjust resistance (eg, using a keyboard). It would limit the options though.

Either that or keep an eye out for a suitable bargain on a trainer bike.

Is it going to be the same part on the volt? It would seem an odd thing to reinvent.

I see preorders for stuff like this : jetblack-volt-xdr-freehub-body - I can’t post links but both bike shops and jetblack have the part. Suggesting, if they are the same, you will be able to get one soon.

Yes that one should work. It was previously available, then it went away a while ago and has not been restocked since. Perhaps it will some day.

I think I have it backwards though. The volt is an old trainer.

I meant if their new trainer has the same part. The victory or whatever it is.

No idea about that. Would have to ask Jetblack. I don’t know if they are even manufactured by the same company.

Hi @Lennart_Henkenherm welcome to the Zwift forums!

Shuji at Zwift HQ. Please contact my Support colleagues and let them know what you’re after, and they’ll discuss options with you.

One of those options is to upgrade your Zwift Hub’s firmware so you can use virtual shifting along with a single-speed Zwift Cog + Zwift Click shift controller (or Zwift Play game controllers). Myself - I have a Hub set up this way, and it makes switching between my 11 speed bike and 12 speed bikes really easy because the single speed cog is compatible with both.

Do you use a SRAM AXS 12 speed chain on it? Wondering how fit compares to Shimano given the different chain dimensions.
