Has anyone with a Wattbike Atom (2nd gen) had issues with small vibrations through the pedals when riding? It happens even when pedalling gently with not very much wattage. So much so it makes my toes tingle!
Nope, unless I’m sufficiently dopey that I just haven’t noticed

Wattbike Atom 2nd gen owner here with about 13,000 miles on it so far. Have never experienced vibrations as you describe. I did get mine officially serviced through the official Wattbike route which wasn’t cheap, but certainly made mine quieter once more. It had got noisier although not massively. Interestingly, there is a form of chain underneath the plastic covers which did get replaced and lubricated as part of the service. For the amount that I use it the service has definitely been worth it.
NB - The service centre were super helpful when I had an issue with moving my handlebars which had seized… I think in part due to my sweat! Now using a sweat catcher which runs from the handlebars through to the seat post which stops most sweat dropping onto the plastic and then ingressing into the moving parts - recommended!

Thanks Matt. I glad you’ve had a better experience than me. This is a new Atom, it’s taken Wattbike nearly a week for them to respond to my query. In the meantime I’ve tried to get used to it but I’ve also found the gearing very slow to respond and sometimes not responding at all. I have done all the firmware updates and tried all the different gearing combinations. I have come from 5 years of faultless pedalling on a Tacx Neo but when that died I thought I would try something different.
My feelings now are that I’m going to return it. They used to offer free returns within 30 days but now it’s a £100 charge for them to pick it up and another £100 to reprocess it. But even so I’m going to return it. I feel ripped off good and proper!
Such a shame. Sadly, I think you have received a ‘ bad one’. I’ve got 3 friends who have Atoms too and all have worked well. The new Zwift Ride looks great value , although it locks you into Zwift. Take a look at DC Rainmaker who has a massive selection of reviews on different trainers…. and good luck with your next trainer!
