Hi guys, I want to buy a smart Trainer with the zwift cog for the upcoming Winter Season.
The Option are: a new WAHOO KICKR CORE ZWIFT ONE or a used wahoo kickr core from the secondary market with an additional new zwift cog & Click v2
My question is: on the pictures it Looks like the WAHOO KICKR CORE ZWIFT ONE has the older v1 Version of the cog & Click on it. Is That so? And what big of a difference does the two Version have?
You can learn about the different versions in this video from @GPLama
I ended up buying the “recertified” Kickr Core because it came with a full warranty. It also arrived in like-new condition. There was no sign that a cassette had ever been installed on it. Those are not always in stock but it’s worth checking. Most of the used ones I’ve seen appear to be overpriced and even more so if you value the warranty at more than zero.
Other bargains you could look for are the Jetblack Victory (supports virtual shifting, availability currently waitlisted in my region) and the Saris H3 (no virtual shifting but steep discounts currently).
I think the main difference v1 to v2 is an adjustment on the cog that allows for more fine tuned alignment of the chain without having to adjust your derailleur (which, if you’re cycling indoors and outdoors would be a pain if you had to mess indexing your gears every swap)
But my kickr core came with v1 and there are 2 complete gears I can select on my bike where the chain makes no noise, it’s not that fine grained as far as I can see (and hear)
