Hi, I’m having trouble connecting my Garmin Vivomove 3S to Zwift. It was connecting fine last year, but I have a new tablet, phone, and smart trainer this year and although it all works together, I haven’t been able to get the HR working.
-Bluetooth is on on all devices
-Tablet and phone are on the same wifi network
-Both the tablet and phone can connect to the watch with the Garmin Connect app
-Ive tried connecting directly to the tablet, as well as using Companion as a bridge and can’t get either to work
Samsung Tab A9+ running Zwift app
Samsung S23 running Companion app
Saris H3 trainer
Any help would be appreciated!
Possibly your old tablet supported ANT+? The Vivomove 3S is not on the list of Garmin watches that support Bluetooth heart rate broadcast. The newer ones do. Most modern tablets do not support ANT+.
It does do bluetooth (Gramin spec sheet confirms this, but it’s also how it’s been connecting to Garmin Connect apps on both devices) though maybe there’s something to do with versions that I’m not aware of because it is an older model? I was hoping to avoid having to buy a new HRM.
Ask Garmin if it supports Bluetooth heart rate broadcast. I think it does not according to their docs. That is not related to pairing it to Garmin Connect.
Ah, I see. I may have been mistaken about how it was connecting last year as I was working out a whole pile of issues with old/busted devices. Thanks for clarifying!
