Virtual shifting on Tacx Neo 2T

I have the Tacx Neo 2T and just purchased a zwift frame. I thought with the recent announcement that virtual shifting working work Tacx Neo 2T. I just got it home and all hooked up and it’s saying virtual shifting isn’t compatible. Do I need to buy the cog and click? That seems like a waste if it has to be taped to the handlebars and doesn’t work with the integrated shifters.

Did you update the firmware?

Garmin Tacx Training App for Neo, Zwift Companion App for Zwift Ride.

Hi @Lauren_Kirk_Robinson,

Thank you for your post in the Zwift forums. This is Jose from Zwift Support.

We’ve identified a known issue where some trainers may appear incompatible with Virtual Shifting. To clarify, you do not need to purchase the Zwift Click or Cog separately; you already have the handlebars, and they should work as expected with your setup.

As a first step, please try reinstalling the Zwift app, as this often resolves the issue. I also see that you’ve already opened a support ticket. If reinstalling doesn’t solve the problem, please continue with that ticket so one of my colleagues can assist you further.

In the meantime, if you have any additional questions, feel free to reply here or reach out to us directly.

Thanks.

@Jose_M2049 thank you for responding. I uninstalled and re-installed and am still getting the “not compatible” message. I’ve also tried connecting on my PC and on AppleTV. Appreciate any help so I can get riding! I have not been contacted by one of your colleagues yet.

Do you see firmware 2.6.0 in the Tacx app?

You have to install the TACX Training app in your phone. Open the app and connect the NEO 2T to the app then you will be prompted to update the firmware in your NEO 2T. Update the firmware, disconnect the NEO 2T from the TACX Training app, open Zwift, connect the NEO 2T to Zwift over Bluetooth and then enable virtual shifting going to Settings/Hardware.

@enricoclaudio Thank you! Rookie move, I guess. I never disconnected the trainer from the Tacx app. I’ve been fiddling with it all day! It’s working now! I appreciate you breaking down each step for me. Have a great weekend.

Sorry, I forgot to mention it in my first posting… :face_with_peeking_eye:

Hello, I also struggle to get the Neo 2t to work with Zwift click and cog. Both have latest firmware and they are disconnected from the Tacx app, but still it states that my trainer is not compatible. I’ve reinstalled both Zwift and Tacx, and tried on my computer

Any chance you have an ANT+ adapter in your system? If so, pull it out and try again.

No, I’ve tried both on my Iphone and PC and no ANT+ attached to neither
