Yup, it works! I got a second stick Sat am, popped it in and it worked straight away. I was able to layer TR over Zwift and do intervals, still able to control both, run other apps, all was stable, etc.
@Alan - Would really like to know how you went about setting up your iPhone/Kickr/PC combo.
I tried doing a similar thing. Use iPhone and Trainerroad through Bluetooth to control the resistance of the Kickr, Then run Zwift on Macbook with one Ant+ dongle.
All devices are displaying similar data but the resistance is all over the place. Trainerroad changes it for one interval, then Zwift appears to be knocking it back as the road changes? Can it do that?
Cheers.
I am using a Macbook Pro, 10.9.5
I purchased a Garmin Ant + Dongle
When I plug the Ant+ into the computer and open Zwift, it says, ‘no Ant+ dongle’ found.
I have installed Garmin Ant Agent 2.2.2
Can anybody provide any assistance? Much appreciated!
I have a Kurt kinetic, bike with quark and garmin speed sensor. 2 ant+ dongles to my windows laptop connects to trainerroad and zwift at same time. My laptop is connected to a 32inch TV, permanent setup in a rumpus, works fantastic. I think I’ll move my setup to my lemond trainer and get the speed sensor working on it. The setup should be pretty good nearly as good as a kickr ;). I find the kurt works my legs differently than on the road and my power output is lower, so the lemond should be more realistic I hope. I just hope my wife does not mind swapping the trainer back ;).
Greg I’m not too sure about your mac but maybe try removing dongle, un-installing the garmin ant agent, then plugging the dongle back in. It should recognise it and automatically download the right software. But maybe that is the right software,…
@Greg - TrainerRoad aggressively takes control of the ANT+ dongle. So does Garmin Ant Agent. It causes Zwift to be unable to find it.
Hi,
how do I choose which one takes controls of the resistance if using a smart trainer?
tryinh to do the same with GC and zwift with a smart trainer
thanks
Hardware:
•HG computer with windows 10
•Garmin edge 520
•Stages non-drive side power meter
•bontrager DuoTrap speed and cadence sensor
• 1 Ant+ dongle
•BLED112 dongle
•Cycleops fluid 2 classic trainer
so originally I was only using trainerroad with my fluid 2 trainer , Speed and Cadence Sensor and the BLED112 dongle (was told by Trainerroad this was the only way virtual power would work with windows) and it worked fine.
Then I came across Zwift so I had to use the ANT+ dongle, and both the apps work fine with virtual power but there is a difference of wattage output between the two of about 30 Watts.
I just bought a stages power meter and tried to connect the two apps but it wouldn’t work. so I tried using zwift with the power meter and trainerroad under virtual power with the Speed and Cadence Sensor but it’s still unable to connect. how can I pull this off on one computer? or is it even possible?
