Hi, I am new to this forum And I’m just beginning to get to grips with my new Zwift ride.
Several articles talk about using the Companion app whilst navigating a ride displayed in Watopia for instance. I am currently using my iPhone 11 to Mirror image the Watopia world on a smart TV display.
My question is: when on a ride, how do I use/display the Companion app whilst using the Zwift app to navigate my ride.? Thanks for any feedback
If you’re mirroring, then the answer is … you cannot.
If you did so, then your TV would just also mirror Companion app, as… the display is just that, a mirror.
You’d be backgrounding Zwift (which, truthfully I don’t know what happens when you do so on a mobile device), but that doesn’t really matter here. As it isn’t going to render a background app.
You’ll need a second device; either for Companion, or for Zwift.

Just wanted to know whether I was missing something. 
Zwift Companion is essentially a remote control while you’re running the Zwift app on some other computing device.
It’s handy if your computer doesn’t have a touch screen, or if you can’t reach your mouse, or you don’t want to sweat all over your keyboard, or your touchscreen display is too far away to touch.
When you’re not in the middle of a ride, you can also use ZC to sign up for future events, etc.
