Trouble linking trainer to Zwift on PC

(Bill Slater) #1

I am new to Zwift and my smart trainer in general.  I have a Kinetic Road Machine/Smart trainer and I am trying to pair the trainer to my laptop for use with Zwift.  My laptop can see the trainer in blue tooth but Zwift can not.  I bought an ANT+ dongle and extension cable and tried that but the trainer is still not discover able by Zwift.  The only way I can get it to work is through bridge app on my iPhone.  I would rather connect it directly to the laptop and eliminate the bridge.  Any ideas?

Hi Bill,

You trainer is supported according to this post:

https://support.zwift.com/hc/en-us/articles/203152565-Which-trainers-does-Zwift-support-?section=201088439

As I read over here, Zwift recommends using the Mobile app:

https://support.zwift.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/205823455-How-does-Kinetic-inRide-work-with-Zwift-

Interesting read here from DC Rainmaker:

Good luck.

Your trainer is supported, but it only communicates over BLE, so it won’t show up over ANT+. The good news is that if you don’t use anything that else that uses ANT+, you can just return the dongle/cable.
