It’d be heartily welcome if we can see the value of Trainer Difficulty setting. I know there is a slider, but I’d like to see the exact number … ie 55% or 75% or 90% etc … not only guess what current position of slider can mean…
… I know the number can be found in prefs.xml file, but as I run Zwift on Apple TV, I have no access to this file at all … thus no way for me … Please, it’s just one number to show
Pretty simple here, add the actual value the crappy trainer difficulty slider is set at so we know the actual value? Right now there is absolutely no way to tell in the ios app what the slider is set at; 10%, 18%, 33%.
Would It be possible to have the Trainer Difficulty Slide bar show what changes you make in percentages rather than having to guess if it looks right for say 80% especially for apple TV, as I use the Zwift preferences executable to change it on my PC or change the Prefs file itself on the PC but this is not possible on Apple TV it would it easier to know what difficulty you are running at Thanks.
Would be even better to have it in “steps” such as 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% etc.
Is there anyone who want to set 55.7% trainer difficulty? I think not. Same for volume or any other slider please.
I agree, I recently sent an email to Zwift support as I have been experimenting with the difficulty setting. Very frustrating that there is no percentage included like other apps.
It can be useful if you change it around. It feels like there’s a cutoff somewhere around 75 that feels substantially harder on most courses and going on the wrong side of that (whichever you prefer) is annoying.
I often switch to higher resistance when I’m expecting a fast flat sprint so that I don’t spin out…
Am I off base here? Trainer difficulty I thought basically just effectively flattens hill gradients. eg. at 50%, turns 10% gradient to feeling like 5%, a 5% gradient to 2.5%, etc. A 0% gradient would still be 0% if setting is 100% or 0%.
If you’re sprinting on a flat course, does Trainer difficulty really have any impact?
I have a Kickr Climb and am trying to setup the wheelbase “hack” to allow me to ride at a lower trainer difficulty, whilst making sure the Climb gives me the right gradient for each climb. However, I am using Zwift on an iPad and the usual Prefs.xml file that will give me the exact trainer difficulty doesn’t seem to be on my iPad and so I am not sure how I can out the exact difficulty I am on with an iPad. Is it possible?
It seems strange to me that the slider in-game doesn’t have the actual value shown too, as this seems like a simple fix to a problem quite a few people must experience.
There is no way to tell exactly what trainer difficulty is set to unless 0 or 100% - best advice I can give is measure the length of the slider with ruler etc on your device and set to whatever percentage you want based on that measurement.
