You were lucky to end up on your Tron. I normally get dumped onto the Zwift steel frame instead of my Cadex Tri. I can’t for the life of me fathom why, in a non competitive event, we can’t retain our preferred steed. It’s pretty stupid in my opinion. I’d rather credit my own legs with the achievement without the assistance of draft. Grrrrr!
And if I really must have a bike with draft then my garage has far more desirable candidates than the steel frame. Why not default to my favoured drafting bike? Bloody busy bodies. Who makes these decisions? Not the paying customers, I bet.

I thought it was just me. I get to keep the wheels ive chosen but get a stock steel frame. I wondered if it was an “everyone gets the same” deal but see plenty of Tron bikes. I’m not fast to start with, now im on a stock frame.
No idea why someone would get changed from the Buffalo Fahrrad to the Tron for a TDZ event, but the other changes mentioned here are the expected behaviour.
If an event has TT bikes banned, then riders on a TT bike such as the Cadex Tri will be swapped to a different bike upon entering the pen.
The bike that people get put on in that situation is the Zwift Steel, as that’s the only bike that every user is guaranteed to have.
It’d be better if people got swapped to their most recently used non-TT bike. The garage sorting feature shows that this is remembered by the game.
A similar thing can happen when an event is set up to put everyone on the same frame but with a free choice of wheels, such as the Pinarello Powered zRacing events last year.
If someone is on the Tron bike, which has its own special wheels, they will be put on the default bike and the Zwift Steel wheels. As again, these are the only wheels that every user is guaranteed to have.
