To become cat A do I only need to lose weight or also repeat the power effort with my new weight or in other words does zwift keep best power/weight for the last 90 days or does it recalculate power to weight every time you enter your weight.
(I know could just like test that but it feels like cheating)
If you are talking about getting to pace group A, the last information from Zwift said that it takes the average of the weights you were at the time that the 3, 5, 12, 20 minute PRs were set in the last 90 days. If this has changed, we would not necessarily know, but AFAIK that is still true.
Too bad, I don’t feel like repeating that 20 minute ftp test any time soon but maybe I could do a 5 minute during a vo2max workout I think I can manage 5.1W/kg for 5 minutes (almost did during a climb during a granfondo but the climb was too short). Hopefully cat A by 2026
zMAP is often around 5:30 power. If getting over the 5.1W/kg zMAP threshold for A at your current weight seems feasible, the quickest way to A will probably be to bang out a PR around 5:30 and if you don’t get to A immediately, you may do when older PRs at a higher weight start expiring. Of course you may fall back out of A if you don’t keep setting fresh records but that’s what screenshots are for.
