Thru axel squeek/scratch

I have the new ride and just put it together. At the first ride there was noise from the axel. When I took it out it has scratch marks om the drive side some 20mm in and around the whole axel. I have tried to tighten it evenly, tight and position it carefully but the squeking is still there. There is no problem to engage the axel at the non drive side. Any advice? Do I need a new axel as it has the scratch marks?

I wouldn’t worry about the damage to the thru-axle, but it would be worthwhile to understand why it happened. Which trainer are you using? If it’s a Wahoo trainer, you should check that the proper adapters are installed, including the drive side spin cap. People often miss that one and it can result in the bike shifting around on the trainer.

Thank you.

It is the new Zwift ride so wahoo core 2. There is only two spacers\caps and they cant be inserted wrong.

Yes, trying to figure out why. First I thought it might be debri but carefully cleaned the axle and trainer. By measurement it seems to be the first part of the trainer on the drive side. Tried to fit it multiple times but still squeeks some under load, so scratching. I will try to ask Wahoo support as well.

Contacting Wahoo is a good idea.

Post a picture of the drive side of the trainer with the bike removed
