Stuck with mountain bike & Zwift won’t let me switch

What is the fix for this very annoying bug? I’ve been stuck on a mtb for my past three rides. Having to completely stop during a ride to change an undesired frame is not a proper solution (and that didn’t work for me anyway).

There are a few options mentioned in the post.

  1. Update your Zwift software, Windows and Mac got the fix yesterday and Apple got it today.
  2. Enroll in the mission and un-select the radio button
  3. Complete the mission, Once you complete it you won’t be on the MTB.

Thanks for the suggestions Gerrie. I updated my ZWIFT software this morning (Apple), but unfortunately it did not fix the issue. Deselecting the radio button in the mission also still puts me on a mountain bike. I guess that leaves option #3.

Got the Windows update when starting up this morning, bug is corrected. Still a larger number of MTBs roaming London than usual, not sure if that’s the result of people doing the new challenge or non-updated users.

Log in this morning with ipad air and my tron bike is gone and i was on a mtn bike?! Been working great until this morning.

Hi @Tim_Carter

there is a lot of discussion on the topic in the thread.

Did you go to your garage to change your bike back to the tron, or is the Tron not available in your garage anymore.

If you update your Zwift app everything should be back to normal.

Tron not Available and I’ve updated zwift.

Again, I updated my software this morning and the issue is not resolved. (Mac IOS)

What is your current Zwift version?

Did you unselect the radio button for the mission if you accepted the mission?

@Tim_Carter

Can you post a screen shot of the garage, the Tron should be below the Zwift Carbon.

I don’t know what version of ZWIFT (it’s on my iPad) it is, but I just re-downloaded the app this morning so I assume it’s current. Unchecking the radio button after accepting the mission still landed me on a mountain bike.

The answer I just received from ZWIFT tech support was instructions on how to stop riding, select the garage and then change the frame. So I guess that’s all I can do until the bug is actually fixed.

The good thing is it is very quick to change frames. Less than 30 seconds.

Thanks Tim

I see your TRON bike.

Got it. Thanks, but why would it kick me off the Tron bike to start with?

Anyway for those of us who did quick fix for mtb by signing up for mission and un-selecting button to quit mission since fix is done.

Yes, but this isn’t really a fix – it’s a workaround. Hopefully ZWIFT will correct the actual problem with switching my preferred bike to a mtb. Thanks again for your help.

Guys Sorry I have misspoke the fix is still not available in the apple store as of 10:20am EST.

From Zwift Support

There is a patch to fix this released on all platforms other then iOS, which will be released as soon as the Apple Review Process has completed. Once the update has downloaded, you should be able to change to your bike of preference and not have it change on you, as it should be!

That is good to know @dot_gitignore. I do not have Apple products to test.

…glad to see a fix is in the pipeline for iPad users … even so it’s a frustration I could do without… stopping to try to change back to a road bike caused me to miss the start of my ride and despite the ride apparently allowing late starters I sat sad, lonely and isolated for at least 10 minutes before giving up…
I’m a big Zwift fan but the number of relatively minor hiccups like the above can, when taken together, add up to major frustrations …
