OK it’s not perfect but I finally figured out something workable! Kev and Stuart are correct – when you join a robot runner you are locked on their pace for a short while, but then things reset and you go to your actual pace. The trick is there are like 10 or so robots and they are spread out around the route of the day. While you have no control what route they are on for any given day, you can toggle around each one and choose from a variety of starting points. Here’s an image on the route map from today, with starting positions of the robots indicated (yellow arrow and the yellow circles). Now if only I could only tell the robots which routes to use…!
